More Gnoming

The second coach to caboose conversion has been completed this morning.

Both are fitted with tension lock couplers and intended for use on the Ferronor Division, shared between Derrotado, Antequera, Puerto Tablon and Esquina del Fuego.

Staying with freight handling, some progress has been made on the railtruck. This is unpowered and will mainly be used back to back with No.39, either as a pair on branch line service or with an additional van between them on the overnight San Fernandez to Grande mail and express train. The large cab suggests a second row of seats behind the driver so the train may also convey a couple of passengers if they’re not in a hurry.

Those of you cringing at the above monstrosity might like to look away now.

The double ended railbus had a new floor and solebars added this morning.

There have been odder creations seen on real narrow gauge railways!

I was aiming to use it on the Derrotado branch but I’m now intending to reintroduce regular passenger services to Puerto Tablon with it instead and when not in use on the FCPyF it will be perfect for the Muchness Light Railway.

Finally for today, the large tourist coach now sits level on its chassis instead of sagging in the middle. These is quite a bit of work to be done on the three sections of Gnomy buses before they can be secured in place though. The raised advertisement panels need smoothing down before the sections are glued together and new side panels cut to fit.
