Consolidation on the FCPyF

Consolidation #70 on the junction at Bodjio.

The Pampas and Fernandez Consolidated Railway has acquired a second hand 2-8-0 “Consolidation” for use on the steeply graded line to Cuarto de Pulgada.

Approaching the Jones River bridges.

The loco comes from a Brazilian railway which has a more restricted loading gauge than that of the FCPyF, so it appears small when coupled to the train.

Passing the mine at Rio Paleta.

What it lacks in size it makes up for with power though.

Crossing the dry river bed at Rio Paleta.

The small diameter driving wheels are perfect for a mountaineering railway like the Pampas and Fernandez.

Almost at the summit, approaching Lago Cumbre.

Number 70 will be shedded at Grande and used on the Cuarto mail train.
