Apologies for not updating my blog for a while. I’m going through a sticky patch at the moment, having lost my beloved Harvey to a mercifully short illness at the beginning of December. He was not himself on the Friday, seriously poorly on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon the vet said she couldn’t save him.
To add to my woes there is a suspected rat in the garage. The mouse traps I’d set keep getting tripped without catching anything so I’ve got the council’s rodent man coming today. In the meantime the railway is partially dismantled where I’ve been trying to flush the vermin out and it’s far too cold for playing trains in the garage anyway.
Winter is the time for smaller, indoor, projects. One such, long overdue, “kitchen table” job has been tackled this morning as a bit of therapy to keep me going.
The burn on Allt-Na-Ballt has been running out of a small cave since the layout was built but this has never looked right so I’ve finally got round to adding a waterfall cascading down the cliff face.
Also, to finish on a bright note, I’ve been visiting Cheshire Dogs Home and will soon welcome a new addition to my life. Not a replacement for Harvey, you can never replace such a loss, but a new love to keep me company.
