More skip diving

I “rescued” a hefty piece of MDF from a skip in the town centre yesterday. It’s just the right size for the baseboard to build Cuarto de Pulgada on.

At Expo NG last Saturday Giles Barnabe, Chief Civil Engineer of the Este and the Centrale & Oueste railways on La Isla Blanca, very kindly donated three turnouts for the FCPyF to use when building CdP. I have redrawn the proposed track plan, using the points positioned on the baseboard to ensure that everything will fit. This is much easier than trying to make scale drawings because locos and cars can be used to measure siding and loop lengths.

Work on track laying will not be starting until the shelf for the layout has been constructed so there’s nothing much to see yet.
