I’ve spent most of today playing TrainStation on FaceBook but, while waiting for virtual trains to arrive, I have also been doing something creative in the real world.

I think it will be too tall for the tunnel on Allt-Na-Ballt, which is a pity because it would look good trundling round the pizza layout, so it will probably end up on Muston Sands when completed.

The cruel close ups make it look worse than it is but it is meant to be tatty. At the moment the bodywork is mainly in a grey finish, I want to add peeling paint over this so that it looks as if well weathered plywood panels are gradually rotting away.

Those who know their way around a scrapbox will spot the roof and windows from a shortened 1:64 scale Bluebird school bus, turned end for end, and the bonnet from a 1:43 Thornycroft lorry. The rest of it is cardboard and rocket sticks, destined to fit on a Kato Chassis… It was originally designed to fit on a Minitrix chassis but I didn’t design it very well and it didn’t fit!
