Restoration job

Tweedsmuir Street 001

Way back in 2007 I built an N gauge microlayout depicting an urban Scottish terminus. Tweedsmuir Street has been in storage for a while as my interests are mainly narrow gauge these days but I dug it out this morning with a view to restoring it to working order.

Basically all it needs is a good clean and the paint touching up around the edges.

Tweedsmuir Street 002

The sign on the department store wall needs replacing and the wee boosh near the end of the station roof would benefit from some fresh foliage too but there’s not much other work actually needed to restore the scenery.

Tweedsmuir Street 004

Push-pull train from London Kings Cross just arrived at platform 3.

Tweedsmuir Street 005

Intercity 125, for Inverness, on platform 2.

Tweedsmuir Street 008

A suburban service lurks in the gloom under the station roof.
