Steve Warrington

I am deeply saddened to read on Facebook of the passing of Steve Warrington. I had the good fortune to meet Steve at several of the exhibitions he organised in Telford and Lincoln. He was always cheerful, not an easy disposition for an exhibition manager, and his enthusiasm for narrow gauge railways rubbed off on a great many visitors to his shows.

These shows raised money for charities as well as raising awareness of narrow gauge modelling, especially in larger scales. It was Steve who bought my G scale Green End Quarry layout when I decided that I no longer had space to store it. Steve was proprietor of Back2Bay6, a garden railway supplier, and also organised other model railway events to promote outdoor modelling.

Rest in peace Steve.
